The UK Border Agency have just announced that the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) will be replaced with the new Tier 1 application with effect from Monday 30 June 2008. This change has been proposed for some time now although notice of the exact date of withdrawal of HSMP has come at very short notice. With effect from Monday 30 June 2008 applicants outside the UK as well as those in the UK will all be using the new Tier 1 application and the process established for their specific country.
No information is yet available describing the process for making a Tier 1 application outside the UK, except for India. As soon as this information is available we will publish it.
For existing clients this means that we cannot submit any HSMP applications on your behalf from Monday 30 June 2008. Until we have more information about the arrangements put in place for Tier 1 in each country we are unable to confirm whether we can support Tier 1 applications for existing clients.
Obviously we cannot consider any new clients for HSMP. Until we have more information we are unable to consider any new clients for Tier 1 applications either.
