Please note that we are unable to evaluate Tier 1 General applications being submitted from outside UK. For all HSMP applications please proceed as follows:
Firstly, it is important to find out if you can score sufficient points with which to make an application. You cannot submit an application if you score less than 75 points. You must also be able to provide the necessary evidence to support your score.
Go to the POINTS CALCULATOR. If you pass this basic test you will be asked to attach your CV on the Results page for us to evaluate. This is a free initial evaluation and will determine whether we think you have the potential to make a successful application or not. This evaluation is based only on the information provided in your Points Calculator score and your CV. If we think we can help you we will send you an email with details about how to register.
Registration
When you register you will be asked to select which service you wish to use. The service details are explained to you. Once you have selected the service and entered your details online, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions associated with the service. After registration you may then Login and start working on your application process online.
Application Process
We have designed an Application Process that is both simple and informative, comprising a number of steps. Advice Service clients will complete steps 1 through to 6, and Full Service clients will complete steps 1 through to 11.
Registration as above.
Full and Advice Service: Confirm your location. In order to detemine whether you are making an In Country or Out of UK application we need you to confirm your country of residence and your nationality. If you are in the UK but as a visitor then the UK is NOT your current country of residence.
Full and Advice Service: Make the Initial Payment. For Advice Service clients this is the full payment for the Advice Service. If you withdraw at any stage of the process then this amount is non-refundable. For Full Service clients this is the deposit for the service and covers the processing up to the point when you are ready to send your evidence documents to us. If you withdraw at any stage of the process then this amount is non-refundable. The balance is due when you send your evidence documents to us.
Full and Advice Service: Input your application form. Complete the details of your application form online. The online system will perform edits on your input to ensure that you have completed the necessary information. Once you have completed your application form to your satisfaction, click on 'FINISH' and follow the instructions to proceed to the next step.
Full and Advice Service: Staff will check your application form. At this stage, UK Working consultants will evaluate your application form. They will be making sure that your application is still on track for a potentially successful application, and that you can proceed with the information provided. They will also ensure that you have completed all the sections relevant to your application. If there are any questions, then they will raise these with you and attempt to resolve the issues. They will inform you of any concerns arising from your application form. When they are happy that your application form will still qualify for submission, they will move you on to the next step.
Full and Advice Service: Document Gathering. You will be supplied with a checklist of the documents you need to provide. In addition, you will be able to use our comprehensive Help & Guidance facility found on your Client Menu to enable you to ensure that your documents conform to the strict requirements of the Programme. Advice Service Clients will be able to print off a copy of their application form and checklist in preparation for making their own application. They will also be offered the opportunity to upgrade to Full Service. Full Service clients will indicate when they have completed gathering their documents by clicking on the relevant button at the bottom of the Final Checklist.
Full Service Courier Return. When you are ready to send your documents to us we recommend that you use the safest and most secure means available (e.g. courier, personal delivery, special delivery, etc). We provide a prepayment service to enable us to return your documents to you by courier once your application is complete. If you wish to prepay for a fast courier return then select your return location at this step. If you do not wish to use our document return service and will be arranging to collect or pickup your documents independently then you can indicate this also.
Full Service Final Payment. You will complete the final payment in preparation for sending your documents to UK Working.
Full Service Documents in Transit. You have sent your documents to us. We will acknowledge receipt of your documents as soon as they arrive.
Full Service Application Completion. Staff at UK Working will evaluate your evidence documentation. If any additional documents are required they will contact you immediately. Otherwise, they will proceed with the application paperwork and submission to the Home Office.
Full Service Application with Home Office. As soon as we receive any information from the Home Office regarding your application we will notify you. In the unlikely event that your application has not been successful, we will consult with you concerning submission of a request for a review and undertake the process if relevant.
Whether applying from the UK or from abroad, your application must contain:
Two passport-sized photographs
ORIGINAL copies of all evidence supporting your application
Payment made to UK Working for the amount specified.
Applying from Inside the UK
If you are resident in the UK then you can make an HSMP application. If your application is successful you may be able to switch your current visa to HSMP while in the UK. However, this will be determined by your current immigration status. Some visas are not 'switchable'.
For example switching is possible if you are:
A work permit holder
A student who has successfully completed a recognised degree course at a UK Higher Education Institution
A student who has undertaken postgraduate training as a Doctor, Dentist or trainee General Practitioner in the National Health Service
However, please note, if an overseas government has been sponsoring your stay in the UK then you must have their written consent in order to apply to extend your stay.
Applying from Abroad
If your application is successful, then you can apply for entry clearance to come to the UK on the basis of the Programme approval. Your entry clearance application should be submitted to the British Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country of residence. It must contain:
A fully completed entry clearance application form.
Your Program approval issued by the UK. Your local Embassy or Consulate will be notified of your successful application.
For any dependants travelling with you who are not included on your passport, separate forms
Your valid passport or travel document
Two passport-sized photographs
The appropriate fee for entry clearance application
Evidence that you will be able to maintain and accommodate yourself and your family in the UK without using public funds
In all cases it is important to contact the local Embassy before submitting your entry clearance application in order to determine the exact procedure.
